Despite coming from behind to level, Huntly’s development side suffered a late defeat against Colony Park SC who made the most of the numerical advantage to seal a later winner.

Defender Ross Craig and forward Zander Zvegintzov both called off through injury pre-match while recent signing Ethan Walker started in defence.

Both defences were put under pressure in the early stages., In the eleventh minute Cameron Middleton turned a Lucas Sey shot round with the post with a great save. Two minutes later, a deep free kick from Dillon Farquhar picked out Owen Morris in the opposition box whose header was just over.

The visitors opened the scoring in the seventeenth minute when Luca Hunter curled in from outside the box after a short clearance out from the home defence.

Colony doubled their advantage after 36 minutes. Ethan Walker was adjudged to have fouled Lucas Sey inside the box. Referee Brian Fowlie waved away the protests by the home side before Sey slotted the resultant penalty low inside the post.

Huntly were forced into a change a minute later losing winger Max Cheung through injury with Owen Campbell replacing him in attack.

Half-Time: Huntly 0 Colony Park SC 2

The hosts had to reshape at the interval after losing Luca Michie to an injury with Owen Morris moving into attack, Dillon Farquhar going into midfield and Owen Campbell slotting in at right back.

Huntly got back into the game in the 61st minute. Connor Stuart (left) was fouled out on the left and took the resultant free kick himself and with the opposing defence failing to deal with the set piece, Stuart’s free kick took a bounce in front of goal and into the far post.

Two minutes later Huntly level when Dillon Farquhar played the ball forward to Owen Morris (right) who stepped by his marker before firing low to equalise.

With one of Huntly’s trialists picking up an injury early in the second half, a further would have to withdraw following a collision with his own goalkeeper, Cameron Middleton meaning Huntly would have to play fourteen minutes with only ten men having used all their subs.

Colony made the most of their numerical advantage and Lucas Sey got in behind the Huntly defence to finish with a low drive for the winner.
