Huntly defender Michael Clark is pleased to return to action after a four month absence.

The 19 year old admitted he is enjoying being back and it’s a good chance to impress the Manager.

“I’ve just got to knuckle down and see how I get on, I was feeling a bit sore after two games and was struggling a bit late on against Nairn County but it’s good being back and I just need to get training again an get myself back up to match fitness to help me get through a ninety minutes.”

With Huntly having selection issues prior to the previous game with Forres Mechanics, Clark didn’t think at the time he’d be coming straight back into the middle of defence.

“I thought at the end of last season I needed a break from the game and then the day before the game at Forres I got a call from Gregg Carrol and he asked me to give it a go. I thought at the time I’d be in as a back-up in case Sam McKenzie got injured but when I got to Forres there was no chance of Sam playing and I was straight in alongside Craig Dorrat so there was not time to think about it. There are regular changes in defence, Sam is injured, Blair Johnston just returned, Craig moved into midfield and we just newly took Mark Smith on loan from Formartine United at time we just have to do what we do.”
