Welcome to everyone connected with Rothes for what is our only home fixture of the month.

Last time out against Rothes was a game we should’ve killed off early, we had well over twenty goal attempts, stuck the woodwork twice and had a perfectly good goal ruled out. It was a late winner from Marek Mádle that day but you have to take your chances when you’re on top and had the majority of possession but Rothes did cause us some problems going forward so we’ll have to be wary of them as they can score goals as they showed against the likes of Strathspey, Keith and Fort William recently.

The desire and work rate was there against Turriff United, the attitude was great and going down to ten men is sometimes a killer but at that stage in the game we were still in and played well but a slack pass and a half tackle. It was a half tackle from Dorrat while Michael Hart held his hand up in the dressing room afterwards saying he played it a bit short and it landed to their right midfielder and they’ve come and picked us off and they’ve done that again for the third. Sometimes you need to cut out that errors and play the ball first time especially in those conditions. If we can keep the attitude and work rate going I think we can win more than we’ll lose.

I’ve just had my second game in temporary charge and things have been fine during the week. I’m trying to keep the training the same as it’s been recently so it’s been no problem and we’re trying to keep that high tempo. Tempers will get raised at times but that will happen when you’re playing on a tighter pitch and sometimes that’s a good thing as you know the players will fight for each other when it comes to a match day on Saturdays.

We’ll be forced into changes today, Alexander Thoirs has been handed a two game ban while we missed Russell Guild last week through a calf injury and I think today may be too soon for him so should’ve had another week of physio to help him out. We’ve got a big game coming up on Wednesday night in the Aberdeenshire Shield semi-final at Inverurie so you want to have your best players available for that game but even if we can get him a run out or training before then it’ll help.
