Since my last update it’s been all change at the club, Gregg Carrol has come in as Manager and I’ve been promoted to Assistant Manager alongside Steve Dolan.

There’s a bit more responsibility as a number two and I got a taste of when I took the team for three games against Deveronvale Turriff and Rothes and the response in that time was good. Although it’s a change of role I still have to play at the moment having started the last six games. We have discussed I shouldn’t have to be playing all the time but at the moment I’m quite happy to while I’m fit and healthy in order to help lend some experience on the park.

Tonight is our first home game since we beat Rothes just over four weeks ago and it feels like such a long time since then, it’ll be good for the likes of Gregg and Dippy to take their place in the Christie Park dugout and it’ll be a good opportunity for us to get some points on the board with Clachnacuddin just one point ahead of us in eleventh.

Iain Polworth’s side have improved lately and they did well last season with Iain himself winning manager of the year. They’ve got a lot of young players but at times that inconsistency can catch them out at times but we know it’ll be a tough game just like we got at Grant Street Park when we beat them 2-1 back in October.

It’s a tough run of fixtures we’ve got coming up with Fraserburgh (twice), Formartine and Buckie still to come before the end of the month but we’ll now start to gradually get players back. Michael Clark is free from suspension for tonight while Big Dorrat serves the last of his two game ban which will then make him available for Saturday.
