Huntly have added to their squad with a debutant from Saturday’s 6-2 defeat to Keith earning a deal.

Former Banks O’ Dee midfielder Philip Duncan came off the bench. Duncan has also had experience in the junior ranks with  Stonehaven and he was also in the Banks O Dee squad the last two times they faced Huntly in the Aberdeenshire Cup, scoring the winner against them in 2014/15.

Speaking on getting the 25 year old signed until the end of the season, Co-Manager Doug Baxter said:

“I know what Philip can do having worked with him previously at Banks O’ Dee. I think ability-wise he’s right up there. He probably just needs to get some games and get his fitness up. He can definitely play at this level there’s no question about that.”

Duncan was pleased to get the chance to step up to the Highland League and link up with his former Banks O’ Dee Manager again.

“It’s obviously a challenge coming into the Highland League but I’m looking forward to it working with Doug again for the rest of the season.

It’ll take a bit of time for the new management to get the players to gel and get playing like we should be. I’ve played with a number of this team during my time at Banks O’ Dee and there’s a lot of potential there and it’ll be good to see it come together.”
