There has been movement out of the club with a member of the squad on his way to join a junior club.

Defender Cameron Bowden is set to depart the club after a fee was agreed with Bridge of Don Thistle.

The 31 year old signed for Huntly last year after eleven years with Turriff United making seven starts last season but was only an unused substitute for the first two games of 2021/22.

Speaking on the player’s departure, Manager Allan Hale admitted Bowden would be a miss. He said:

“I wish to take the opportunity to thank Cammy for his outstanding professionalism, commitment and efforts during his spell with Huntly. He  has had an exemplary career to date and is easily regarded as one of the most respected defenders within the Highland League so I’m sure I speak on behalf of many and say that not only will he be a miss to Huntly but a miss to the Highland League as a whole.

I, however, need to honour and respect his desire to have regular game time & therefore we have agreed the deal with Bridge of Don. On behalf of all at the club we wish Cammy well on his move and for his future.”

Chairman Gordon Carter added: "I’d like to echo what Allan has said already about the player’s efforts during his time at Huntly.
All that remains for me to do is wish Cammy success at his new club"
