With football still on hold for Huntly, the club have been handed a boost ahead of the upcoming season with another player returning to Christie Park today.

Midfielder Glenn Murison has returned to the club until summer 2024 after his time with  Australian club Shepparton South came to a premature end.

Former club and fans player of the year, Murison (22) originally signed for the club in 2015 after impressing in the youth development side going on to make 174 squad appearances scoring 12 goals.

Manager Allan Hale was full of praise for the player’s commitment after he returned early to join up his team mates during pre-season.

He said: “Glenn made a financial commitment to return early from his adventure in Australia in order to come back to the club in time for pre-season training which in itself was a great commitment therefore it was great to also see him follow through with his commitment to sign a new long term extension upon his return.

He is a valuable member of our squad who will play a key role in regard to how we look to progress as a club. It’s important to remember Glenn is still a young player who is learning the game however he carries himself well around the club, is a respected member of the squad and critical to our ambitions therefore it’s great to have him back and we look forward to working with him over the next few years.”

Club Chairman Gordon Carter admitted the return of the local player was a huge boost:

He said: “It's a huge boost to have Glenn back after his time in Australia. His ability, drive and strength of character are very important to the club going forward”
