With a number of defensive players having left Christie Park over the summer, Huntly Co-Manager’s Mark Gray and Douglas Baxter have moved to take another in.

Defender Martin Macdonald has followed Nairn County team mate Adam Naismith in singing for the black and gold’s after eleven years with The Wee County.

Co-Manager Mark Gray was an admirer of the 33 year old having played against him in the past and he’s pleased to add an experienced campaigner to his side.

“Martin is defender who has always impressed me against Huntly, he’s a steady centre half, and he’s good on the ball and adaptable to different defensive systems. Myself and Doug (Baxter) want to win things with this club and important we build up a strong squad to help us progress up the league and Martin is one of those who can help make the team stronger in defence.”

Macdonald made 277 appearances for Nairn from 2005-2016 scoring 35 goals.
