Huntly have completed their first summer signing with an experienced addition to the playing squad.

The black and gold’s have today completed the signing of veteran forward Dennis Wyness on a one year contract after his recent deal with Buckie Thistle ended.

Speaking on his newest addition, Co-Manager Mark Gray was pleased to bring in a player he has known for a number of years:

He said: “I played with Dennis when we were younger and we were at Aberdeen at the same time, he’s very good in attack and has a great touch for a forward and he’s got that experience and quality which help the younger players in the squad.

His link-up play is very good and provides scoring chances for other players as well as getting himself on the scoresheet. I’m looking forward to seeing him play next season and he’s looking forward to a new challenge himself after not featuring for Buckie since the start of February.“

Wyness (39) started his career out with Aberdeen before going on to feature for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Hearts. Upon Leaving Caley for a second time he moved to St Mirren, Queen of the South (loan) and Dumbarton.
After a season at Peterhead in 2010/11 he’d move on to Elgin City before moving to Highland League side Buckie Thistle last summer. In his one season with the Jags he netted 8 goals in 25 squad appearances.
