The first ever league cup meeting between Strathspey Thistle and Huntly was finally played at the fifth attempt after a venue change to Buckie and it went the distance with the Jags setting up a midweek trip away to Formartine United after winning 5-4 on penalties.

After registering more than thirty attempts throughout the game, Huntly Manager Charlie Charlesworth was disappointing they didn’t take their chances in front of goal.

It was the first time the Jags had won a cup tie since March 2011 as Manager Alasdair Munro was pleased to book their place in the quarter-finals.
