Huntly’s Harlaw hoodoo continued as the black and gold’s went twelve league games without a win away to Inverurie Loco Works.

Locos went unchanged from the side which knocked Dyce out of the Aberdeenshire Shield midweek Due to injury and unavailability Huntly made five changes to the side which lost in the Scottish Cup to Stenhousemuir. Tom Ritchie, Jack McCormick, Cameron Heslop, Caiden Imbert-Thomas and Reece McKeown all came into to the starting eleven.

With a quarter-hour a long throw from Logan Johnstone picked out Caiden Imbert-Thomas who saw a header held by Andrew Reid. Two minutes later, Calum Dingwall curled a free kick past the post.

Huntly passed up a big opportunity to break the deadlock after 25 minutes when Michael Dangana rolled the ball in for Joel MacBeath who failed to connect from close range.

Locos went ahead with seven minutes of the first half remaining. Lloyd Robertson gathered a Greg Buchan clearance and crossed in for Kieran Shanks who tapped in from close range.

Joel MacBeath came close to levelling a minute later firing narrowly over with a long range effort.

Locos doubled their advantage two minutes before the break. Lloyd Robertson again turned provider with picking out Kieran Shanks who netted with a free header for his 13 th goal of the season.

Half-Time: Inverurie Loco Works 2 Huntly 0

A minute into the second half, Tom Ritchie denied Locos a third diving low to keep out a Dingwall left-footed strike.

A quick break upfield from Greg Buchan in the 58 th minute saw the midfielder slip the ball to Joel MacBeath who curled wide of the post.

Huntly pulled one back in the 63rd minute. Ross Still was cautioned for a foul on Cameron Heslop and from the resultant free kick, Greg Buchan struck the dead ball low inside the post for his fourth of the season.

Logan Johnstone again troubled the home side from a long throw with seven minutes picking out Michael Clark whose glancing header was past the post.

The visitors came close to levelling into the stoppage time. Captain Glenn Murison curled in a shot from outside the area as Andrew Reid fingertipped the shot round the post. Reid would deny Huntly again soon after keeping out a Michael Clark header.
