Huntly went three games unbeaten at Grant Street Park with an impressive 5-2 win away to Clachnacuddin.

The hosts had Eachainn Miller and Ross Logan in for Ryan Mackintosh and Scott Morrison while Huntly added loan signing Marcus Goodall to the bench after he signed late Saturday morning.

With under two minutes played, a quick break upfield saw Angus Grant get into the opposition box before netting his first Huntly goal with a composed finish.

Euan Storrier was called into four minutes later turning away a James Anderson shot.

Grant turned provider after sixteen minutes with a neat through ball to Greg Buchan and he made it two goals in as many appearances with a low drive to the far post.

Clach pulled one back midway through the first half. Liam Taylor got down the left flank and played the ball in for James Anderson whose low effort crept low into the far post.

Logan Johnstone impressed down the left side for the visitors and set up the third in the 31st minute picking out Angus Grant with a cross and the former Turriff forward added his second from close range.

Huntly went into the break with a three goal cushion. A pinpoint delivery from a Reece McKeown corner picked out Kyle Dalling and the defender netted his first Highland league goal with a powerful header.

Half-Time: Clachnacuddin 1 Huntly 4

Clach reduced the deficit after the break. Huntly had multiple attempts to clear the ball before it dropped to James Anderson to fire in from the edge of the box.

Cai Matthew played in Angus Grant in the 63rd minute and the forward came close to grabbing his hat-trick rolled a shot by the post.

In the 72nd minute, Huntly’s Caiden Imbert-Thomas would add his first goal in Highland League football finding the bottom corner after loan signing Marcus Goodall had struck the bar.
