Huntly and Rothes had to share the points following an eventful 4-4 draw at Christie Park.

Huntly were without Gary McGowan through suspension and the absent Nicholas Gray while Alexander Jack was still injured as Ryan McRitchie was away with Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Matthew McDonald, Cameron Booth and Alexander Thoirs returned while loan signing Aidan Sopel was added to the bench. Rothes had Jamie Duff dropping down to the bench following injury midweek while Alan Pollock was unavailable.

With 12 minutes gone, Blair Johnston’s cross was laid off by Kai Ross to David Booth whose half-volley found the inside of the post.

Euan Storrier touched a Craig Cormack shot onto the bar in the 18 th minute and from the resultant corner, Cormack headed in at the near post.

Kai Ross was denied by the woodwork when his shot struck the foot of the post. Shortly after, Matthew McDonald saw a header turned away by Robert Donaldson after he got on the end of a Cameron Booth cross.

Midway through the half, Huntly’s defence took three attempts to clear the ball inside their own box before Steven Anderson drilled low to put his side in front.

A short corner from Kai Ross played in David Booth and his cross was sent to the back post for Michael Clark to head in his seventh of the season.

The home deference were guilty of trying to play offside in the 40 th minutes as Steven Anderson ran on to fire high into the net to restore the Rothes lead.

With 77 seconds of the half remaining, Matthew McDonald burst down the left flank and picked out Glenn Murison at the near post. His initial attempt was blocked before bundled the ball in to make it 3-3 with his first of the season.
