A stoppage time winner from nicholasgrayNicholas Gray saw Huntly go three games unbeaten as the forward netted the only goal in a one-nil win away to Rothes.

The home side were without the suspended Dale Wood as Ashley Ballum returned. Huntly had Euan Storrier out with a facial injury and Matthew McDonald dropped down to the bench as John Farquhar returned in goal and Kai Ross came in on the right wing. New signing Matthew Johnson was added to the bench.

The visitors threatened in the first minute when Michael Clark headed wide from a Gary McGowan corner.

Farquhar kept out Alasdair Sutherland with a point-blank stop on seventeen minutes while his opposite number Cameron MacKay did well to deny Ross with a first time stop.

McGowan forced another good stop from MacKay midway through the first half while Scott Davidson passed up a great opportunity firing wide inside the six yard box ten minutes before the interval.

Farquhar kept out Rothes again into the second half denying Sutherland six minutes in while the player-coach denied Anderson’s shot. Jamie Wilson would also find the keeper in fine form forcing another good save with twelve minutes to go.

A timely block by Rothes Captain Jamie Duff kept out a Glenn Murison attempt with three minutes remaining  while the crossbar denied Rothes an opener when Sutherland struck the bar a minute later.

Thirty-five second into stoppage time, substitute Paul Napier made a darting run down the right wing and his cross was met first time for Nicholas Gray to finish from close range to claim all three points for the Strathbogie side.
