Huntly FC today launched a new initiative with its inaugural private members club.
The idea is not new to football and there are examples in the highland league and indeed Aberdeen FC have their own “50” club. However the club believe that the unique bond that exists between Huntly and its supporters will make this a special experience.
The concept is being promoted by two former club directors Andrew Stokes and George Clark  who have both recently been added to a list of Associate members of the club.
Speaking on the launch, George Clark said: “Andrew and I were simply chatting through some fundraising ideas for the club one evening, as despite being away from the frontline as it were, are both committed supporters and want to support the current board as much as we can. We have both experienced this concept at quite a few clubs and could see that an attractively priced product would certainly be something Huntly’s fantastically loyal support would enjoy.
The club is for all supporters who enjoy the corporate hospitality feel of an afternoon at Christie park, but without the same formality or commitment to time. Anyone who has been to the matchday hospitality knows it is great fun to be in a group of like minded individuals who enjoy an afternoon at the football and possibly a drink or two at the same time.
All the details are on the poster and I think this is a great opportunity for anyone to become one of the founder members of the Gold Members Club. I would urge anyone interested to contact me ASAP as there are limited numbers available and there has already been considerable initial interest shown."
Huntly Chairman Gordon Carter welcomed the launch
He said: “I have no doubt that the newly launched Gold Members Club will be a popular and successful part of the club going forward.  We are always seeking ways in which to engage with our supporters and the wider community and this provides another excellent opportunity to do that.
This new venture is aimed at current or future Huntly fans who enjoy watching their team and having a few drinks and some banter with their mates. By joining the Gold Members Club they will do all of that and raise vital funds for the club at the same time."
