Last Sunday, (30th October), the Huntly Under 19's were in Scottish Cup 3rd round action at Christie Park against Dundee side Domino Utd. Unfortunately we ended up losing the tie 4 - 2. The result tells very little of how the tie panned out, as the Huntly lads played well, but missed loads of chances which, had we taken, we would have made the next round comfortably. As so often happens in Football though, our failure to convert the numerous chances we created came back to bite us in the rear end, big time! Huntly led their Dundee opponents 2 - 1 with around 15 minutes or so of the tie to go, through 2 excellent MICHAEL MASSON strikes, (the first a brilliant finish from the edge of the box!), and as I said, we ultimately had MANY chances to kill the game off at this point, but missed them all.

Domino Utd went on and scored 3 of the few chances which they created, to their credit, inside the final 12 minutes or so, to win the game 4 -2 as I said. Their final goal was a real gift on the Huntly lads part though, as a terrible mix up between our Keeper Scott Sinclair and Centre Back Peter Souter presented their attacker with a simple finish to seal the match and their place in the next round.

This was a real kick in the teeth on the Huntly lads part, as we had played some good football throughout, gave maximum effort throughout and created numerous chances, but like I said we unfortunately missed them all. The lads hopefully will learn from this and bounce back for the rest of the season. We just need to sharpen up our finishing to put matches out of sight and we will certainly be working on this.

We wish our opponents all the very best of luck in the next round, this of course, goes without saying. Grateful thanks also should go the Under 19's Player's mums who contributed the lovely sandwiches and home bakes to the after match buffet, so thanks very much for that Mums!  Also, thanks again on my part to Jim Masson for running our line for us and for assisting me superbly in Jase's absence, due to work commitments.

Our man of the match (in MY opinion) was Skipper Richard Brown at Right Back, rock solid as usual throughout!
