Sunday 31 July
Huntly v Keith

Billy Anderson
"We have started the campaign with a win and that is the main thing. When the fixture list came out and you see that you have to face a team like Keith on day one you know it is going to be hard but the lads have gone out their and done the job even though they had to play for an hour with ten men.

"Obviously I am not going to go into the sending off but even though we were a man light we didn't allow them to equalise at any point and there are not many sides would be able to say that against Keith.

"I was delighted with the performance of Matty Gairns who has come back here and has taken a real lift from it and you can see the quality the lad has. But I wouldn't single anyone out as they all stuck to their task and now we have to prepare for another difficult match in a weeks time."

Kenny Taylor
"We were the better of the two sides until the sending-off and, I felt we passed the ball well up to that point but unusually Huntly seemed to get a wee bit of a lift when Shallicker got sent off. We seemed to panic a bit.

"Our crossing in the first half was poor and we didn't put enough balls into the area, but what really beat us was the goals we gave away, we can't afford to gift the league champions the kind of goals we gave away this afternoon. They were simple goals to give away, but we play Huntly again in the Aberdeenshire Cup, so we will have to learn from this defeat and get on with it."
