Monday 5 December
Keith v Huntly
Martin
Allan
"We are delighted, we played particularly well in the first
half. We committed ourselves to going forward and continually got
ourselves into good positions. We took the lead with a great goal;
Darren (Still) won the ball about 25 yards from goal, played a pass,
followed it into the box and finished it brilliantly so it was a
65 yard run and a good finish
From that point we pretty much dominated I thought and could have
been more than one up at half time. Huntly were dangerous on the
break but I thought in the first half we played as well as we could
do and really defended well and created good chances.
The second half was different. Huntly came at us and put us under
a lot of pressure and we just didn't pas the ball for the first
15-20 minutes we just kept giving it back to Huntly. That was down
to them putting us under so much pressure but they didn't really
have any clear cut chances apart from when Richie Taylor had a strike
from the edge of the box that Andy saved but we got to grips with
that and realistically could have been up by three or four as we
had three one on ones.
Their keeper made a fantastic save from Alan Fraser but Stuart
Walker and Cammy Keith should have hit target when they went through
one on one. At 2-0 up we believed that was it but we hit the post
an low and behold they go down the other end and get their first
goal. Beyond that Huntly put us under pressure but thankfully we
weathered the storm and came out with a really good victory against
a good Huntly side.
I think we have been playing well for a number of weeks so it is
a continuation of some good form. But for some early season problems
in front of goal we would have been in a healthy position. We ended
up getting no points or one point when our play deserved more but
we finally kicked that habit and have managed to get our goals when
we needed goals and are winning games.
Today was a huge victory as Huntly, as ever, will provide stiff
opposition for anybody."

"It was a frustrating afternoon. This is our first game in
a number of weeks and we never really got on top of the game as
we can do. Even though we pulled a goal back late on we couldn't
do enough to turn it around.
"Right at the end there was a clearance off the line and that
might have given us a point but we want to be getting all three
points not just one. Having another week off next Saturday won't
do us any favours
"We just have to get on with things. There is a long way to
go and the players showed last year that they are capable of putting
together a winning run and to be honest I think we deserve to have
a lot more points than we have on the board just now, but that is
football."
