Monday 15 August
Huntly v Deveronvale

Billy Anderson

"It was a great team performance and I thought we controlled the game after getting the early goal and adding a second to that with another good finish. The deliveries into the box today were excellent from the wide areas and we had to play a certain way, using our strengths in certain areas, which we did.

"It has been a hard start to the season. The two home games were important and we won them and we went away to Buckie and got a result there, a draw, so far so good but we have still got to go to Fraserburgh next and the other teams so it is going to be hard.

"Everybody is out to beat us and you can see that so it is important that Mike and myself continue to give the boys every encouragement and instil into them both the work and team ethic and I have to say they haven't let us down from the moment we arrived up to now."

Gregg Carrol
"I think when you come to the home of the Highland League champions, and we were in the same situation a few years back, if you lose a goal like we did as early as that it knocks out your stuffing a wee bit

"The annoying thing for me is that we lose two goals from cross balls and they have one striker no the park and we have three central defenders. You are not telling me that isn't pretty bad defending. If you look at the whole game you can say we have lost three goals there, two from cross balls and one from a mistake and you have got to do better.

"If you want to compete and do something you have got to do better, now we have taken the plaudits for the Cove game, the Lossie game and the Locos game but we have got to have a wee shake of ourselves today it is as simple as that. There is no magic wand, we just have to got to work hard at it.

"Everybody know the way we play. We like to get the ball down and we like to pass it and there were too many boys nae at the races today and they have accepted it themselves. I don't have to go in there bawling and shouting at them, as they know it themselves and we will be up for the game on Tuesday night against Keith."
