Scottish Cup 1st Round Draw: Reaction

This morning's Scottish Cup draw paired Huntly with junior side Girvan in the first round. Girvan retained their SFA membership when they went into the junior ranks and are automatically entered into the competition every year. Huntly ran out one-nil winners on that occasion and will be looking for the win again this time.

With no Manager at present to give their reaction to the draw, we spoke to midfielder Stuart Soane who scored the winner in the corresponding tie at Christie Park two years ago.

"It's great to have gotten a home draw. You always have to be happy with a home tie, especially when its the scottish cup and your not to sure what the opposition are going to be like.

I guess the one good thing about getting them is we do know a wee bit about them since we did play them two season ago so we'll not be going into the game expecting it to be a easy match as last time we were a bit lucky to get through.

The winner was my first goal for the club that day and it was a good moment for me so hopefully I'll be able to get my name on the scoresheet again this time and help the team through to the second round."
