Huntly Appoint New Chairman
Hard on the heels of winning the Highland League, Huntly Football
Club have announced that George Minty is to become their new Chairman,
taking over from Kenny Anderson who has held the Chairmanship position
with Huntly for the past three years.
During his period of office, Kenny Anderson has led a remarkable
turnaround in the club's fortunes, transforming a weak financial
position into one of profitability whilst on the park, the team
has regained former glories with the winning of the Highland League.
"It has been a wonderful experience, " says Kenny, "
and I am very grateful for the tremendous support I have received
from my fellow Directors, committee and all connected with the club."
"Now that my targets have been achieved, it is time to hand
over the reins. I am delighted that George Minty has taken over
the Chairmanship at a very exciting time for the club and he has
my support.
George Minty, leaves Forres Mechanics after a period of 12 years,
the last three of them as Chairman. He says he is delighted to take
over the top spot at Christie Park, but is very aware that he has
a hard act to follow.
"Kenny has done a wonderful job, and the buzz around Huntly
today owes much to his tremendous effort. We have a talented team
of players, officials, supporters, sponsors and many volunteer helpers.
I am looking forward enormously to being a part of this dynamic
group.
"But I am not leaving Forres Mechanics without regret, for
I have enjoyed strong support and shared many good times with them
and made many good friends. It has been a privilege to have been
their Chairman and I will miss them.
George Minty takes over his Chairmanship at Huntly effective June
1st.
