Despite taking an early lead, our under 17’s suffered their first home defeat of the season on Monday night when they went down 4-2 to Deveronvale.

Huntly attacked from the start and when forward Mika Askildsen (left) got into the box, he powered in a shot high inside the near post for this third goal in as many games.

The lead didn’t last and Vale were soon ahead with two goals in under two minutes. A Max Stewart corner from the right wing wasn’t dealt with by the home defence and Ben Moule bundled in from close range to equalise.
Noel Scott would force the visitors into the lead when he side-footed in from close range in the fourth minute.

In the 19th minute, a deep free kick from Connor Stuart was met by the head of Luca Michie who saw his header held by goalkeeper Jamie Williamson.

Rowan Millar had the ball in the net after 25 minutes but the goal was chalked off when the midfielder was deemed to have fouled the keeper.

Huntly levelled the score just after the half-hour mark when Captain Keigan Mathers won the ball before running to the by-line and cutting back for Owen Morris to tap in from close range for his first of the season.

The hosts looked to take the lead and came close eight minutes into the half when Stuart saw a long range effort just over the bar.

Two goals in an eleven minute spell would seal the points for the Banff side. A Max Stewart free kick in the 67th minute was parried by substitute goalkeeper Cameron Middleton as NoelScott added his second from the rebound.
Stewart was again a threat for the Huntly defence when he created the fourth picking out substitute Ben Shrader who found the bottom corner with a low shot.
