Midfielder Luca Michie grabbed the winning goal as Huntly’s under 17s survived a late scare to run out 4-3 winners over Formartine United.

With twelve minutes gone, Mika Askildsen and Ewan Skinner saw efforts blocked in the visiting box before Rowan Millar (right) held off his marked before firing low at the front post.

The lead was doubled three minutes later when Captain Keigan Mathers crossed from the left for Mika Askildsen (left) to take a touch before drilling low.

Huntly extended their lead in the 37 th minute when Matthew Begg burst into the opposition box and was blocked before the ball was played back to Mika Askildsen to power in a shot for his second of the night.

Prior to the interval, Huntly came close to adding to their tally. A long range Luca Michie shot was turned around the post by Alex Lyall. From the corner from Mathers, Askildsen’s volley was denied by the woodwork.

Five minutes into the second half, United sub Ben Cresswell lifted a shot over through on goal. a great stop from Huntly keeper Sandy Watt denied Lewis MacDonald one-on-one

Lewis Macdonald started the United fightback finding the net with a superb overhead kick in the 65 th minute.

Huntly netted what turned out to be the decisive goal four minutes later. Dillon Farquhar capped off an impressive performance as he broke down the right wing and delivered a pinpoint cross for Luca Michie (right) to bullet in a header.

Lewis MacDonald chased a ball down in the 73 rd minute before squeezing in a shot from a tight angle.

Sub keeper Cameron Middleton prevented MacDonald from getting his hat-trick diving low at his near post.

United Trialist Ross Wilson ensured a nervy finish volleying in after a corner was not dealt with.
