Huntly F.C. have confirmed today that Willie Irvine has accepted an offer to join the Board of Directors in the capacity of 'Youth Development Director'

He brings on board with him the experienced team of Ron Mennie, and Stewart Sim who will spearhead the progression of the youth system and the Under 21's at Huntly.

Board Director John Smith commented: "We have felt for some time that the Youth system at Huntly has been on the periphery of the club, and it needs to have a more central focus. We hope that this move will lead to a more integrated approach to enable progression through the ranks.

With Willie, Ron, and Stewart in place we now have the resource and expertise to make Huntly a destination club in terms of developing local talent"

First team manager Dave McGinlay also endorsed the appointment:

"Willie and his team have already made a very positive impact since their arrival at the club, and we see this as an important step forward. Huntly already have one of the youngest first team squads in the Highland League, and we are determined to give youth every opportunity at the club in the future."
