Firstly, a Happy New Year to you all and your families for 2018.

I extend a warm welcome to the current league champions, Management, Committee and Supporters.

I will also take this opportunity, to pass on, on behalf of my management team and players, our deepest condolences to David ‘Parro’ Findlay’s ’ family and relations on what has been a tragic event. I knew ‘Parro’ well in HFL circles and knew of his passion for BTFC and its community, however, it wasn’t until attending his funeral that I realised just how much good work he had done and successfully accomplished within this community. I hope his work and foundations laid are maintained in his memory. RIP ‘Parro’.

Back to Huntly matters. It has been a frustrating period for everyone, with both the Forres and Deveronvale games postponed and trying to acquire decent training facilities proving difficult. However, fingers crossed, we hopefully are coming through this testing period and look to get serious game time up and running and get back on track in what has been, to date, a generally much improved season.

Sadly, on the player front, Calvin Roddie has requested to be transfer listed. This is disappointing as I ensured Calvin was aware after my arrival at the club, that he would get my 100% support, despite his dad leaving the club, however, he has chosen to be listed.

I’m delighted for young Tom Andrews, having signed a new 3 year contract – he is a tremendous talent and is taking everything in his stride. I hope to see Tom go from strength to strength as he matures and develops.

As mentioned previously, with Cammy Booth also at the club, we are building in a bit of flexibility and is another great addition with a good attitude.

We are missing a couple of players still from the sharp end, which I suggest is and will hinder us until they are back, however, Gaz serves his last game under suspension, whilst Martin is making good but cautious progress with what was a bad calf muscle injury and hopefully he should start featuring in some capacity soon.

Finally, we are busy trying to sign a quality centre half, which I’m sure you are all aware is of great Importance to the squad, it is proving difficult I must admit, but with the help of the Committee, we will continue to search every avenue to attract the right person and personality to enhance this squad.

Enjoy the game

Charlie and the team.
