Welcome to our final match of the season against Nairn. This is a very difficult match to end what we can all appreciate has been quite a difficult season. I went to watch Nairn defeat Formartine last week and they were very impressive with Connor Gethins as usual stealing the show. In my opinion he is the best forward in the league and our defence will have to be switched on today to deal with him.

Last Saturday was a good way to bring confidence to the side in what was a surprisingly comfortable victory. I was unable to play in the match on Wednesday due to work commitments but hearing the score-line and seeing that Barney was sent off in the first half it seems like it was a strange old game!…

The defeat against Formartine on Monday night was probably the hardest result to take of the season. We had a strong side out on the pitch and just shot ourselves in the foot time and time again. We all made mistakes on the night but the most surprising aspect of the defeat was the lack of character that we showed.

I think its safe to say we are all desperate for the game to get the go ahead on Saturday.

In my last article, I stated that we must turn up against Formartine and we ended up facing the nightmare scenario where literally half the squad didn’t turn up because of illness. That said, no team should be three down inside eleven minutes and I think it exposed a naivety about us which has appeared in flashes this season.
