Huntly have today added to their squad with a former player returning to the club.

Defender Michael Clark had left Christie Park back in October 2014 before heading to the amateur ranks with Insch.

Clark, who has made 103 appearances for the Strathbogie club scoring once was listed as a trialist in the black and gold’s 5-1 defeat to Turriff United as Manager Gregg Carrol was pleased to strengthen his side’s defensive options.

“Michael has trained with us during pre-season and it was good to see he wants to come back. We spoke to him and left it in his hands to decide what he wanted to do and he chose to come back to Huntly which is good for us to have extra options in defence once we start getting players back and getting everybody fit again.”

With the player still only 20 years old, his Manager feels he’s picked up a lot of experience at Highland League level in a short time.

“He’s an honest guy, he’ll always ask questions to us and put his own point across and I like players like that who’ll voice their opinion and he won’t take no rubbish on or off the park and he’ll tell people if he’s not happy and you need players who have got the club at heart who also possess the will to win.”
