Just days after their final game of 2013/14, Huntly have already began rebuilding for next season with three players extending their stay at the club

Playmaker Russell Guild who enjoyed a bumper testimonial against Aberdeen in the summer has signed a one year extension to tie him to his local club until summer 2015. Guild (32) is currently the longest serving player at Christie Park signing under Phil Bonnyman in 1999 and is closing in on 500 squad appearances for the black and gold’s. Russell has been a two time cup winner during his fifteen years and enjoyed one of his finest moments when he captained Billy Anderson’s side to a league title in 2004/05.

Another local putting pen to paper is Gartly-based midfielder Lewis Ingram. Ingram was signed last July after a spell with Buckie Thistle then time in the juniors with Newmachar United and Lewis United. Nineteen year old Lewis has proven himself in his first full season at Highland League level with promising displays at right back and in midfield.

Joining Guild and Ingram in committing long term is Neale Davidson. The 22 year originally featured as a trialist at the tail end of the 2010/11 season before signing in May 2011 from his father Ian’s side Lewis United.

Since signing permanently the left sided player has started every game of the last three seasons and his deliveries from open play and set pieces have provided a number of goals over the last two campaigns.
