Huntly FC have today confirmed that Chairman George Clark has tendered his resignation from the Board and this will take immediate effect.

George took on the role of Chairman in May 2013, at a point in time where the club had been struggling to survive financially.
Under his stewardship, Huntly F.C underwent a transformation which saw a strong financial recovery, a restructuring and strengthening of the Board, and an unwavering commitment to put the club at the centre of the local community.

Speaking today George commented as follows :
“I would like to thank the Board, Committee, all the volunteers, supporters, Managers and players for their tremendous help, support and friendship over the past six years. This is a great club that I have been privileged to be part of and my only regret is that I could not help bring some success on the field during my time. However I know the club is in good hands and I’m sure success will not be far away”.

Vice Chairman Gordon Carter will assume the role of acting Chairman until the Board meet next week to discuss these developments in more detail. He commented :
'' Obviously we are sad to see George step down at this juncture, but he leaves the club in a very stable and secure position. All of those involved with Huntly F.C. fully appreciate that George's tireless efforts during the last six years have transformed the club's fortunes and leave us well placed to enjoy a successful future''
