One of our longest serving players has today finalised a contract extension.

Left back Blair Johnston has signed a new deal to remain at Christie Park until summer 2020.

Johnston (26) has made 97 appearances for the club since signing from Ellon United in July 2014 and his new Manager Charlie Charlesworth is pleased that another player has committed his future to the club after signing goalkeeper Craig Reid and midfielder Tom Andrews on new contracts recently.

“I wanted to sign Blair on a new deal as soon as I came to the club but he asked for some time to think it over. He’s a great full back and I wouldn’t want to replace him. I’ve seen him play in recent years, I’ve liked what I’ve seen and I feel he can still develop and become an even better player.

It’s good for me as there’s not been that much disruption since I came in, we’ve three players re-signing recently and Calvin Roddie still remains on the transfer list”
