Huntly FC today confirmed the appointment of local man Mark Allan to the board of the club and will take up his appointment with immediate effect.
Brought up in the town, Mark, as well as being a lifelong supporter has also worked both as a volunteer and a committee member for many years and was delighted to accept the appointment.
“ As a Huntly man, living and working in this town all of my life, I have always been keen to support and work for local clubs and organisations so when I was approached by the chairman and vice chairman to take up this post, I was delighted to accept. The fact that I have been a supporter for years and years of course adds to the appeal, and I look upon it as an honour to assist the board to carry on the good work of the last few years.”
Huntly Chairman George Clark said that this was an appointment he had been considering for some time “ When I first came to this club four years ago, I did not know Mark at all. He struck me as a nice, quiet guy who was an effective member of the team, but perhaps happy to stay in the background. However, as I got to know him and work with him closely in various fundraising projects I soon realised that he is a highly intelligent and skilled individual with the ability to add considerably to the skill base of the board. In addition he is a football man, with the club close to his heart, so is the perfect fit for someone to come on board”
