clachnacuddinHuntly had a successive goal-less draw when their trip to Inverness ended in a stalemate against Clachnacuddin.

Both sides had midfielders serving suspension with James Beeston and Ross Still missing out following red cards midweek. Huntly were also with the absent trio of Alexander Jack, Christopher Herd and Alexander Thoirs while David Booth and Craig Dorrat remained on the sidelines through injury.

Kai Ross threated early on curling wide of the upright from a free kick after Martin Callum had taken down Liam MacDonald.

In the eighteenth minute, a low shot from midfielder Eachainn Miller came off the base of the post and hit goalkeeper John Farquhar before the keeper kept the ball out.

Huntly’s Ross came close again midway through the half as he saw a shot take a deflection by the post.

Farquhar was kept busy in the first half with the acting captain keeping out Eachainn Miller and Ross Logan in the pace of five minutes.

Into first half stoppage time, a long ball from Logan Johnstone picked out Nathan Meres who held off his marker before firing over the bar.

Minutes into the second half, Sean Webb tugged on Declan Milne’s shirt and the forward still had time to cross for Meres who headed over. Milne was denied himself five minutes later when he saw a shot turned behind at the near post.

Midway through the half, Alasdair Gillies headed towards goal only for his effort to be cleared behind by Johnstone

Huntly substitute Christopher Hay had a low drive deflected behind late on while John Farquhar kept out a Gillies header minutes later.

Nathan Meres created another opening for the visitors and picked out Hay at the far post but he screwed his shot wide.

Martin Callum had a great chance into stoppage time to win the game, joining in the attack only to curl a left-footed shot over the bar.
