Greg Mitchell dragged the ball onto his left and his cross was met by Neil Gauld in the home goalmouth whose overhead kick went by the near post. The dangerous Locos forward came close again after the half-hour mark finding the side netting after running onto a McCabe through ball.

Huntly opened the scoring four minutes into the second half when a header out from the visiting defence went as far as Nicholas Gray who powered in a superb shot from 25 yards for his first Huntly goal.
