"This was the most entertaining game at Christie Park last season"

in View From The Boardroom

by Andrew Stokes

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Christie Park for the visit of Rothes F.C. who make the short trip over from Speyside.  A special welcome to Rothes officials and supporters who always give their full backing for the team, which makes for a good atmosphere. This fixture produced what was arguably the most entertaining game at Christie Park last season. The game in March ended in a 4-4 draw after late drama at both ends of the pitch. We've had a tough set of results so far but it's early days and of course there have been further signings this week to strengthen the squad. You will have seen that Grant Campbell or 'Wicker' has been forced into early retirement due to a long term knee injury and he will be sorely missed by both Huntly and Cove Rangers. All the best to Grant who was a fabulous player and Captain for Huntly. On the events front there will be a RACE NIGHT in the Social Club on Friday September 13th. This will benefit both the Football Club and the Supporters Club jointly. So please make the effort to support the event and enjoy a good night out. The Christie…

Ballam impresses on debut prior to meeting with former side

in Interviews

by Grant Turner

Defender Ashley Ballam impressed in his Huntly debut as the black and gold's lost 2-1 to Formartine United in the Aberdeenshire Cup. Ballam signed on loan hours before kick off to go straight into the starting eleven in a new-look Huntly defence. The 19 year old is looking forward to starting his third season in the Highland League and after spending last season on loan at Rothes he won't have long to wait to go up against his former side who visit Christie Park tomorrow.
