To start things off Grant Turner looks at some of his choices

League games

  1. Winning the title at Inverness in 93/94:
more credible than a lot of recent title wins as we beat Inverness Thistle, Caley and Ross County to do it!
  2. Marco's late flash of brilliance away to Keith to clinch the 3 in a row. After strolling about the wing, Selbie tells him to get "his finger out his a**e and do something" then he nips past everyone to score.
  3. The Rougvie led celebrations during and after a 2-1 win over Vale which clinched four in a row.
Great atmosphere which was spoiled momentarily due to a certain ex-Vale midfielders goal.

Cup Games

  1. Lugs' treble against Stranraer
  2. The cup double in 1992/93 at Borough Briggs - both finals decided on pens
  3. Hearts (a) Scottish Cup 3rd round 92/93

Highland League Games:

  1. Fort William V Huntly 0-4 (completing the 5th championship in a row and obviously creating history)
  2. Keith V Huntly (can't remember exactly the score or the year but I remember that Huntly won the league on that night plus it was a Wednesday, it was a great night against our local rivals)
  3. Deveronvale V Huntly 2-6 (an absolute hammerin' that came from nowhere, great result against the cocky Banffers)

Cup Matches:

  1. Huntly V Stranraer 4-2 (Huntly's best ever team at their best and also Luggies the legend at his best)
  2. Huntly V Keith (can't remember the score or year but I know that I was pretty young and Huntly won on penalties and it was at borough Briggs, just remember it being a really exciting final to watch)
  3. Dumbarton V Huntly 0-2 (another great upset and a brilliant day out)

League Games.
Wasn't at at Inverness thistle so its.

  1. Lossie away, 2-0, to go back top of the league, then go on to win it..plus debut
  2. fort William away, fifth in a row
  3. 4-3 defeat at cove

Cup matches

  1. Clyde Away Replay. Might have been the wrong result but the circumstances and the way the match went was unbelievable
  2. Burntisland Shipyard....game should never have went ahead!
  3. Forfar...just for me!!!!

Selected by Andrew Hassan (believe it or not this is the shortened version)
League Games:

  1. ELGIN CITY 0 HUNTLY 3 (11/2/95)
One of my first ever trips to Borough Briggs.
Martin Stewart opened the scoring for Huntly, but then the turning point of the match - a brilliant penalty save by John Gardiner.
Later in the game Gary Whyte thought he was Jurgen Klinsmann the way he celebrated a second half double - and got himself filthy in the process as the conditions really were terrible.
  2. HUNTLY 2 DEVERONVALE 1 (23/4/97)
A game Steven Rattray always likes to talk about on highlandleague.net.
The important thing to remember is this win sealed four-in-a-row which equalled the then record (before we surpassed it) so in itself was some achievement.
Huntly scored really early, I think from a set piece given after a handball. Vale took their time to get organised and Rougvie scored a great goal and Gary Whyte had us 2-0 up before the break.
But for some reason Vale finished on a high and Rattray scored after a goalmouth scramble - which I still blame Andy Paterson for starting. The way Rattray celebrated, you'd think it was the Vale that had won four-in-a-row. It was a great win and one worthy of mention on here.
  3. HUNTLY 3 FORRES MECHANICS 3 (20/10/99)
For some reason this season, Huntly played a lot of home midweek games - but never won any of them! This one sticks out as we sneaked a draw.
It was a terrible start by Huntly, and Gordon Connelly struck to put the visitors ahead within half an hour. If that wasn't bad enough, Mike Sanderson made it two before the break.
Colin Macronald had a good game, and pulled one back but Huntly always seemed second best - and Charlie Brown restored their lead not long after.
Then Huntly other winger Gordon Farmer, who had also been one of the better performers was subbed for loan-star Duncan Bray and he set-up two late goals for Andy Paterson and Martin Stewart to produce the most unlikeliest of draws of recent times.

Cup Games:

  1. HUNTLY 3 PETERHEAD 0 (SCOTTISH CUP ROUND 2) 2/1/99
A great win that never got the praise it deserved.
Peterhead and Huntly were neck-and-neck in the title race, but before this game didn't seem to have any edge over the Blue Toon.
Brian Grant scored an early double then on the half-hour a vintage run by Marco De Barros past the shed produced an inch-perfect cross for Gary Whyte to put Huntly three ahead of the Champions-elect before half-time.
In the second half, Peterhead's Steve King got himself sent off just minutes after the interval. A great win which set up that unforgettable trip to Brockville to face Falkirk where THAT goal was scored.
  2. FRASERBURGH 0 HUNTLY 2 (QUALIFYING CUP FINAL) 6/11/99
How anyone can omit this game from their top 3 cup ties is beyond belief.
Fraserburgh, flying high at the top of the League, had a pretty easy run to this final at Elgin, while Huntly had played Buckie, Elgin AND Clach and done well to get through.
Huntly played them off the park - with a young Russell Guild pulling the strings in midfield.
Late goals from Stewart and Whyte won the game, the only downside is this is Huntly's most recent success - 5 years ago!
  3. HUNTLY 5 INVERURIE LOCO WORKS 1 (QUALIFYING CUP QUARTER-FINAL) 21/9/02
Locos came up the A96 expecting progression to the Scottish Cup for the first time in their history until Martin Stewart scored in four minutes and a complete massacre followed.
Four second half goals from Andy Low (rehearsed classic), Russell Guild, Eddie Copland and Chris Henderson saw off a very poor Locos side who got their first competitive goal against us through Ross McWilliam, but only one team was going through here.
Game Selected by Adam (Via E-mail)
The most memorable match for me by far was the 4-2 Scotiish cup win against stranraer at Christie Park.
Everyone must remember that.
Inspired football.
Luggies and martin stewart at their best and a full highlights package on sportscene to boot.
Fantastic
