Huntly 2 Lossiemouth 1
A remarkable second half fight-back saw Huntly come from a man
down and a goal down to claim all three points at Christie Park
writes Grant Turner.
The home side were still missing some key players and called up
Robert King and Stuart Allan from the under 21 side. Lossie were
without the services of 19 goal striker Craig Morrison who was suspended.
The game was only 12 seconds old, when home keeper Ryszard Gorski
was forced into saving David Hendry's dipping shot.
The first real chance for the home team saw Steve Dunn make a comfortable

With 18 minutes gone there was a major blow for the home side when
defender Lee McGregor withdrew with a suspected broken nose and
was replaced by Neil Reid.
After much early pressure, it was the Coaster's who opened the
scoring just before the half hour mark when Kyle Stewart's shot
was blocked by the Huntly keeper only as far as Tony Ross who
opened the scoring with his first goal for the club.
Huntly hit right back and Steve Dunn did well to deny Jerry O'Driscoll
by getting a leg to the striker's header.
The visitor's came close to doubling their lead 4 minutes later
when Gorski was made to stretch for a Steven Ellis shot from 25
yards.
Huntly's luck took a turn for the worse when they were reduced
to 10 men, eight minutes from the interval when Gary McGowan was
shown a straight red card by Cammy McKay for an incident only the
Referee seemed to have picked up on.
The home side passed up a chance to draw level in 40 minutes when
Matty Gairns went on a great run only to fire over despite having
O'Driscoll in space at the edge of the area.

Huntly turned the momentum of the game with two goals in the space
of three minutes.
With only 4 minutes of the second half played, the home side got
themselves back into the game.
From a corner on the right, Jerry O'Driscoll headed the ball on
to the back post and it fell kindly for Neil Reid to blast
home from a tight angle for his first strike of the season.
Huntly didn't look like a team down to ten men and they were denied
a second goal only by the woodwork. Graham Green looked to have
tucked away a shot beyond of the advancing Dunn only for his effort
to come back off the post with the keeper beaten.
The black and gold's forced themselves into the lead on 52 minutes
after neat play by Richard Craig sent Jerry O'Driscoll bearing
down on goal and the calmly slotted the ball past the advancing
Steven Dunn for his 13th of the term.
The former Dundee striker almost grabbed a second from long range
when his cross from deep on the left wing seemed to heading into
the far corner only for an acrobatic stop from Dunn.
Lossie battled back and a ball forward by Ellis in 69 minutes was
laid off by Dougie Coull onto the on-rushing David Hendry who saw
his low drive trickle past the post.
With the game heading to injury time, Ryszard Gorski made a excellent
block on the goal-line to deny sub Stephen McIntosh as Huntly hung
on to move ahead of Forres Mechanics into fourth place.
