Two
goals in the last ten minutes saw an injury ravaged Inverurie Locos
pick up all three points at the home of champions Huntly who have
now failed to win their last five home games writes Grant Turner.
After
five minutes of play, Darren Shallicker laid off to Levi Stephen
who shot over first time.
Six minutes gone, Matty Gairns played a one two with Richie Taylor
but the midfielders parting effort flew wide of Stuart Gray's goal.
In the 11th minute, Referee Billy Baxter failed to spot a handball
by Taylor and as play went on, Steven Park and Levi Stephen collided
in a 50-50 challenge. Park looked to be very badly winded and his
team had to go with 10 men until Danny Milne went on as a sub on
the quarter hour.
After a hard-fought first twenty minutes we began to see opportunities
at both ends of the field.
The locos defence cleared a corner as far as Mark Gray who drove
in a powerful goal-bound shot for his namesake Stuart to save low
at the front post.
 Midway
through the first half an attack from the Inverurie Locos saw Stuart
McKay, who had been moved to the left in a reshuffle after Park
left the field with a rib injury, played the ball in from the left
where Andy Roddie nodded it across goal but it fell just out of
the reach of sub Danny Milne.
Moments later Darren Shallicker chested the ball down to Levi Stephen
whose early through-ball for Richie Taylor allowed the striker to
get a shot away however it trickled past the post as if in slow
motion.
On the half hour, the visitors had their first attempt on goal.
When Stephen handled the ball in the Locos half, the ball was quickly
played upfield to McKay who fired over following a darting run inside.
With
ten minutes of the half remaining, Shallicker got on the end of
a free kick only for the ball to go back out as far as Stephen who
fired wide on the volley.
Shallicker had a great chance himself to open the scoring only
to head over from yards out from a McGowan corner.

Four
minutes after the break. Shallicker was fouled on the left. McGowan
delivered the free kick into the six yard box but taylor and Campbell
both failed to connect as another chance went amiss.
The Locos recorded their first shot on target in the 55th minute
when Neil McLean played the ball through for Stuart McKay. His shot
dipped just far enough for Ryszard Gorski to save to the relief
of the home fans.
Ten
minutes later Matt Gairns cross was headed back across goal to Ross
Campbell and he brought out a fine save from Stuart Gray which changed
the momentum of the game.
With seventeen minutes left on the clock Ryzard Gorski was beaten
by a Danny Milne effort however Ross Campbell was on the line to
clear the ball off the line.
Minutes later, Anderson gave away a foul outside the area when he
brought down Milne. Criag Ross' free kick was cleared as far as
Neil McLean to force Gorski into a great save.
However
it merely delayed the opening. A cross from Richie Singer found
young sub David Ross at the back post and he headed it into
the roof of the net to spark wild celebrations amongst the visiting
fans.
Huntly had the chance to level in the 85th minute when Richard
Craig rose at the back post but he failed to connect with the ball
and Inverurie continued to hold the upper hand.
The Locos grew from this and with Huntly going for an equaliser
the Harlaw Park side rounded off the win when Stuart McKay ran down
the wing and crossed for Richie Singer who fired home at
the back post.
